Show DEATH CLAIMS PROMINENT BUSINESS MAN Final tributes of respect were paid Glenn D. Kennedy at funeral services in the First ward Tuesday Tues-day afternoon. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Kennedy, prominent druggist, drug-gist, died Saturday of a heart attack at-tack at Mt. Pleasant, where he had operated a drug store for the past two years. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, May 9, 1887, a son of Steven Douglas and Clara Connel Kennedy. Ken-nedy. He came to this country with his parents as a young boy and was reared and educated in Illinois. Illi-nois. He came to Springville in 1909, served on the Springville city council, coun-cil, and was also interested in the picture show business at one time. He had been a city watermaster and also run a drug store here for several years. He managed a number of drug stores at Las Vegas, Nev., at one time and for four years was owner own-er and maanger of the Salina Drug company at Salina, Utah. Mr. Kennedy was a past president presi-dent of the Utah Pharmaceutical association and was a delegate to the national convention in New York City last year, representing druggists of this state. He was affiliated with the Masonic Ma-sonic lodge and was also a member of the American Legion at Salina. He married Emma Bryan, February Fe-bruary 28, 1910, at Springville. Surviving besides the widow are five sons and daughters: Donloe Kennedy, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gale Loftin, Edna and Glenna Kennedy Ken-nedy of Springville; Keith "Bud" Kennedy, Camp Lewis, Wash.; also four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lena Austin, of Altonia, 111. |
