Show "Eves-Weight Reception Lovely Affair Taking Place After Temple Rites A pretty reception in the Mapleton ward church last Wednesday evening complimented newlyweds Miss Max-ine Max-ine Eves and Grant Weight, who were married earlier that day in the Salt Lake Temple. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Eves and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Willis A. Weight. In a setting of flowers and ferns lighted by the soft glow from tall burning tapers, the bride and groom, their parents and other members of the bridal party received re-ceived aproximately four hundred relatives and friends during the early evening. ( The bride's wedding gown was of white satin and net and her finger-tip veil fell from a crown of frilled net. She carried a pretty bouquet of red and white rosebuds rose-buds with a shower of white satin ribbon. Attending her as matron of honor was Mrs. Coe Jane Weight, while the Misses Norma Weight, Thelma Waters, Nila Ruth Tingey and Mrs. Lois H. Behrmann were bridesmaids. They were attired in pastel formals and carried bouquets in corresponding colors. Little Carol Joy Eves was flower girl and carried a bauquet of tiny pastel blossoms. Val Weston Wes-ton stood as best man for the groom. Mrs. Eves chose to wear a blue formal for her daughters wedding with corsage of camellias and Mrs. Weight wore black lace with a similar corsage. In addition to those mentioned, corsages were also al-so presented to all who assisted with the wedding including those who served and those who assisted assis-ted with the gifts, and the men wore boutonniers of white carnations. carna-tions. Mr. and Mrs. Mead Weight acted act-ed as receptionists. . The entertainment for the reception re-ception featured a program over-which over-which Mrs Maude Dunn acted as mistress of ceremonies using the theme of "The Story Of the Bells." Douglas Childs gave piano numbers. num-bers. Kae Weight entertained with vocal numbers and the Gleaner Girls Chorus of the Sixth ward entertained with numbers. Later in the evening, the couple cut their beautiful three-teir wedding wed-ding cake and refreshments were served. Dancing was also a feature fea-ture of entertainment both before and after the program. Assisting with the refreshments were Mrs. LeRoy Tingey, Mrs. Edith Spalding of Provo and Mrs. Carol Weight, assisted by little Eileen Hunter, Linda Weight and Afton Tingey. After the reception, the new Mr. and Mrs. Weighte- left on a short honeymoon and upon their return will make their home in Springville. |
