Thomas Miss Bernice Liechty, Ray L. Thomas United In Pretty Church Wedding In an impressive double-ring ceremony on Thursday Thurs-day evening, August 18, Miss Bernice Liechty, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Liechty, became the bride of Kay Li. inomas, son or Mr. anas I Mrs. Chester J. Thomas of Price. The candlelight ceremony took place on the lobby of the Second-Eighth Second-Eighth ward chapel, before a group of immediate family members mem-bers and close friends. Bishop Leo Crandall of the Eighth ward officiated. of-ficiated. The hride on the arm of her father, fa-ther, and preceded toy her attendants, attend-ants, met her future husband while the wedding march was played by Mrs. Mary Boyer. The bridal party made a charming charm-ing picture standing before a floral flor-al background highlighted by tall burning candelabra. The bride was beautifully attired in traditional white slipper satin entrain. Her finger-tip veil fell from a crown of silk net and she carried a pretty bridal bouquet tied with white satin ribbon. Attendants included Miss Norma Liechty, sister of the bride as maid of honor; the Misses Jean and A'r-lene A'r-lene Thomas, sisters of the groom and Miss Nell Jane Vane were bridesmaids. They were attired in pastel colored formals with flow- ers in matching shades. Also attending at-tending the bride were the train-bearers train-bearers little 3-year-old cousins Florence Liechty of Provo and Kathleen Reynolds of Beaver. They were dressed in similar gowns of pink organdy and carried car-ried tiny baskets of flowers. Best man to the groom was his brother, Max Thomas of Price. Ushers at the wedding included Tommy Thomas and Sam Wood both of Price. Following the wedding ceremony, cere-mony, the couple were honored with a reception attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends, many corning from out-of-town. The church halls were beautifully beauti-fully decorated for the occasion with a profusion of summer flowers flow-ers in pastel colors and including gorgeous prize-winning gladioli furnished by Heber Liechty of Provo and Mrs. Kate Reynolds of Beaver. The gift tables downstairs down-stairs were pretty also with low bowls of asters given by Mrs. Helen Hawkins of Spanish Fork. Shortly after their reception, the couple left on a honeymoon to Oregon Ore-gon and California. The bride is a graduate of the Springville high school and a former for-mer student of the Brigham Young University. She has been employed at the General office of the Firestone Tire Co. in Salt Lake City for the past four years. Mr. Thomas graduated from the Price high school and attended Carbon Junior College, Price, two years. He served fourteen months in the armed forces after which he entered the University of Utah. The couple plans to make their home in Salt Lake City, where Mr. Thomas will continue his studies stu-dies in the University of Utah. |
