' . v -Xl 'I " ' -1 - . ;. : J Mr. and Mrs. John LeRoy Girirad, nee Miss Marjean Cook Lovely Home Wedding and Reception Honors New Mrr Mrsl LeRoy Giraud A pretty wedding of the late summer was that of Miss Marjean Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cook of Springville and John LeRoy Giraud, son of Mrs. Ada Giraud of Provo. The young couple exchanged vows in a double-ring home was furnished throughout the evening eve-ning by Byron Jensen. Tall candelabra candel-abra and banks of late summer flowers decorated the entertaining rooma. Immediately after the reception the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to the canyons of Southern Utah. The groom is now on his way to Porta Rico for a special training course and upon his return to the United States, his . bride hopes to join him. In the meantime, mean-time, she is making her home in Springville. In addition to the wedding reception, re-ception, the popular young couple were entertained at numerous social functions. The "bride's brother bro-ther Paul and his wife entertained for them at a dinner party in Price. An aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Winget gave a lawn party at their home in Logan. Janet Harmer entertained at a bridal shower for Marjean and Mrs. Giruad, mother of the groom was hostess at a canyon party to honor her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Grace Loveridge has returned re-turned from a most enjoyable vacation va-cation trip to Montana, Idaho and other points of interest in the Northwest. During her 16-day stay she visited a daughter- and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lamb-sori Lamb-sori at Missoula, Mont., where they all enjoyed a fishing trip. At Butte she visited a brother Mark Fullmer Full-mer and family and stayed for a few days with a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Grant at Cour d'Alene, Ida,- From here they visited the Grand Coulee Dam and Spokane, Wash., Lake Koot-naie Koot-naie and also traveled into Canada. ceremony August 14 with Bishop Ivan J. Peay of the Provo Sunset ward officiating. Later the newlyweds greeted their many friends and relatives at a reception at the home of the bride's parents on South Main St. The pretty bride was exquisitely gowned in a lace over satin with long pointed sleeves trimmed with tiny satin buttons. The bodice was tight fitting with net yoke trimmed trim-med with seed pearls. Matching lace and seed pearls formed a crown from which fell her fingertip finger-tip veil of silk net. She carried a bridal bouquet of tiny orchids surrounding sur-rounding a larger orchid with gold metalic streamers. Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Kaaren Cook. Bridesmaids were: Collette Binks, Myrna Giruad, Sherrill Winget, LaRue Fietkau, LaRue Stallings, June Thorn, Janet Harmer, Shar-Iene Shar-Iene Senior, Bonnie Bates, Carolyn Pyper. The attendants were all attired in identical ballerina length taffetta dresses in autumn shades, the maid of honor wearing green and the bridesmaids, biege. Assisting in receiving the guests were parents of the couple, Mrs. Cook wearing a dusty rose formal with gardenias corsage and Mrs. Giruad in acqua with corsage of gardenias. Don Peay of Provo was best man to the groom. In charge of arranging the gifts were Mrs. Newell Winget of Logan and Mrs. Glen Nelson of Preston, Ida., and Mrs. Dale Christensen of Logan, assisted by Patrica Stewart, Stew-art, Catherine Nelson and Juanita Stewart. Verl Harward had charge of the gift book. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cook of Price and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Averett. Jimmie and Kaae Cook were the ushers. A beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake decorated with yellow rosebuds rose-buds and topped with a cupid and yellow roses revolved on a satin covered stand. On either side were tall white candles entwined with yellow rosebuds. Serving refreshments which further fur-ther carried out a yellow, white and green color theme were Carol Bird, Patricia Winget, Catherine Groneman, Donna Lee, Arva Des-pain, Des-pain, Roselyn Hall, Diane Taylor and Ruth Stewart.
