FUNERAL TO BE SATURDAY FOR BERT L. ROWLAND Springville City Employee Dies Of Heart Attack; Services Set Sat., At 2 P.M. Funeral services for Bert L. Rowland, 54, who died Wednesday morning at the Payson hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Third ward chapel, under direction of the bishopric. Friends may call at the family residence, 393 West Center street, Friday evening and Saturday before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery, under direction of A. Y. Wheeler & Son mortuary. Born in Springville, November 26, 1893, Mr. Rowland had made his home in Springville always, and was an operator at the Spring-ville Spring-ville power plant at the time of his death. ' He had had previous periods of illness but ,was in comparatively good health until about two weeks ago, when he suffered a heart attack at-tack which confined him to his bed. He was taken to the hospital Monday evening. He was a son of Edwin and Nellie Strong Rowland. During his earlier life he was employed with the Ely Construction Construc-tion company for many years. Later he was a fireman on the Denver and Rio Grande railroad. For several years he worked for the Springville - Mapleton Sugar Company, and more recently for the State Fish and Game department. depart-ment. . He also worked for a time for the Phillips Garage, and had been an operator at the municipal power plant for about eight years. He was a member of the Elders quorum of the ward in which he lived, and had worked on -the Springville Old Folks committee for many years. Surviving are his ' widow, Mrs. EmmaBinks Rowland, whom he married in 1913; also a son and a daughter, Max L. Rowland and Mrs. Fern Senior, Springville; four grandchildren and a brother and a. sister, Amasa Rowland, Springville, and Mrs. Mabel Thomas Thom-as of Van Nuys, California. "
