Show former Resident Dies In Provo; Funeral On Friday Mrs. Laura Jane Jones Sutherland, Suther-land, 67, a former resident of Springville, died at her home, 756 W. 3rd South, Provo, Tuesday of ailments incident to age. She was born July 16, 1882, in Payson, a daughter of Joseph S. and Cynthia Elmer Jones. She received re-ceived her education in Payson schools. She married George Sutherland May 9, 1902, in Provo. They made their home In the Tintic mining district where he was a miner. They moved in 1905 to Springville, where he died August Aug-ust 24, 1931. After his death she moved to Provo. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in its organizations. She is survived by five sons and three daughters, Alger E. Sutherland, Suther-land, Mona; George P. Sutherland, El Monte, Calif.; Frank J. Sutherland Suther-land and Forrest Sutherland, both of Provo; Mrs. Dora McGee, Huntington Hunt-ington Park, Calif.; Mrs. Cleo Ne-hen, Ne-hen, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Bessie Bes-sie Ramsey, Whittier, Calif.; and Jack Sutherland, also of Calif.; 12 grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Frank Jones, San Maeto; Mrs. Etta Mikeselle, Alhambra, Calif.; and Mrs. Almira Sutherland, Santa Monica, California. Funeral services will be conducted conduct-ed Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Valley Morturay chapel by N. Halvod Madsen, bishop of Provo Second ward. Friends may call at the mortuary mor-tuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to the services. Burial will be in Springville Evergreen cemetery. |
