Show DELIA CARTER SERVICES HELD Well attended funeral services were conducted in the Third ward chapel Monday afternoon, for Mrs. Delia Carter, 90, pioneer resident of this city and widow of William Carter who died Saturday morning morn-ing at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Wilson, in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Carter had been visiting visit-ing her daughter since Thanksgiving. Thanksgiv-ing. Burial was in the City cemetery under the direction of A. Y. Wheeler mortuary. Mrs. Carter was bom at Council Bluffs, Iowa, February 10, 1846. Enroute to Utah her parents died three day3 apart, and were buried on the plains. She with her brothers and sisters continued her journey westward with a half brother, Davis Clark with whom Mrs. Carter made her home. She had resided in Springville most of her life, and was a member of the L. D. S. church. During her early life she took an active part in. church activities. She was married to Mr. Carter in 1865. He died a number of years ago. Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. . Wilson, is a son, S. H. Carter of Price; seven grandchildren; grand-children; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Durham, Dunlop, Iowa. |
