Show Services held at Mapleton for Tony Canto Services were conducted in the Mapleton LDS ward church Saturday- of " last ' week, ; for Tony Canto, 76, a resident of Mapleton since about 1932, who died the Tuesday previous of a long illness. Bishop Stewart Stew-art Whiting was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. A native of Lacona, Italy, Mr. Canto was ' born Oct. 7, jj 1884, son of Tony and Mar- ! guerita Baravetto Canto. He married Katherine Valina in Salt Lake City Oct. 13, 1906, six years after he arrived in this country. Before his marriage, he worked in the mines in Michigan, Mich-igan, later living in Washington Washing-ton and at Eureka. From 1909 until he moved to Mapleton, he was employed in mining in Carbon County. He had farm- i ed since coming to Mapleton j and also enjoyed gardening. While living in Eureka, he ' affiliated with the Moose and Odd Fellow Lodges. Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, Adolph Canto of Kenilworth and Jack Canto of Mapleton; also three grandchildren. grand-children.
