This concert was in preparation for the region orchestra competition held at SFHS the following day. He said he loves it, even though he started recently. "I've only been there three times [but] I'm really enjoying it," said Derek, an intern at Joe Carrick Design. JCD is a company that designs and builds houses. Derek said he wants to be an architect after graduating. "I just like being able to design homes and things. I find building really interesting," said Derek. Interning at JCD helps him know what types of things he'll be going in to. "For now, I watch them draft buildings and learn Derek Pace the programs they use, so I'm just learning the ropes," he said. He plans on continuing the internship until the end of the school year, when he'll have the skill-set and knowledge necessary to have a shot at becoming an actual employee for JCD. Art show admits SF High student interns at jr. highs local students Springville Museum of Art recently released the list of accepted works for the 2010 Utah AllState High School Art Show. The show will be on display at the museum through March 26, 2010. Admission is free. For hours, visit smofa.org. She aids Mr. Olsen in correcting tests and in helping students that need extra help at Diamond Fork Junior High. At Spanish Fork Junior High, Katie helps Ms. Holley in her "Introduction to Drama" class. She takes roll and plays games with the students and teaches them how to act. Katie Cable Out of the two, she likes the drama one the most because she gets to teach and be with them learn. I'm learning a the kids more. The teachers lot about how to teach these like having her there to help classes." This internship is helpwith the kids, and Katie ening her decide what she joys it. "I love it!" she said, "I wants to do in her future really enjoy working with and showing her how she the students and helping can achieve those goals. SFHS has spirit MVP SPORTS IS PROUD TO SPONSOR TOP DON HONORING EXCELLENCE AT SFHS Makyla Theurer Sophomore Makyla Theurer is the daughter of Kami and Jake Theurer. She maintains a 4.0 GPA and her favorite class is math. Makyla is a member of the SFHS volleyball team, is a sophomore rep on student council and a member of NHS. Outside of school, Makyla enjoys hanging out with friends and playing club volleyball. Spanish Fork High School showed off their spirit at their last home game on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010. It was Senior Night for all the seniors at their last basketball home game. Many students showed up in school colors to show their spirit, and cheer the team on. The score was close throughout the whole game.
