Rees receives two Nebo Foundation grants Alison Duncan and Jeffery Ballard, teachers at Rees Elementary, received grants from the Nebo Education Foundation. Miss Duncan received a grant for nonfiction books, and Jeffery Ballard received a grant for African handheld drums. Miss Duncan1 said, "The Nebo Foundation has provided our school with a tremendous amount of support. Through the most recent grant from the foundation, our school will expand our teacher resource library. We will add non-fiction books about holidays. These books will be a resource that will bring meaning and understanding to the fun holidays we celebrate at home and at school. Through the books we receive, our students will learn important concepts about informational text and become more award of their culture and traditions. The support of the Nebo Foundation allows Rees Elementary to give our students the very best and help them achieve their highest potential." These grants are funded through the fund-raising efforts of the Nebo Education Foundation board. One fund-raising effort is the annual "Green Fever" golf tournament that helps fund these various grants throughout the year. The foundation also accepts donations from individu-. als and businesses to support projects. The Nebo Education Foundation is a 501 (c),(3) organization created to bring businesses and donors together for the benefit of Nebo District school children.
