She made almost dally visits to him in his place of confinement, and they had It arranged to be married about Christmas Christ-mas time, when Smith was released on bond. His father is well ofC and gave the required ball. Miss Salnsbury continued her visits to Smith, but they became less frequent. fre-quent. She called for the last time about tho 1st of March. Her conduct on that occasion awakened the suspicions suspi-cions of the Jailer and he was not surprised sur-prised a few days later, when ho saw by Tho Tribune that a marriage license li-cense hail been issued to Jedldlah Grant, aged 21, of Salt Lako and MIhb Lavlna Salnsbury, aged IS, of Bingham Junction. The item was brought to Smith's notice. For two or three days he was downcast, but he gradually recovered his spirits and is now as cheerful as any man In the County Jail. Grant and his bride are living at Bingham Junction. The young man's fathor lias given him a- team and j wagon and he is said to be hard at work earning a living for tho family. The trial of Grant and Smith Is to be held before Judge Marshall at the Aprjl term of the United States District court. |
