Of the other seven, George Sutherland received five and Gov.' Wells two. The men who cast these votes for the minority candidates ' are, of course, in duty bound to support the caucus nominee, which gives the apostle forty-five votes, .thirteen more than a-majority of the entire Legislature, Legisla-ture, and ono Representative who was absent last night cent word that Smoot was his choice. Senators Allison and Larsen and Representatives Hull, Austin and Chip-man Chip-man were appointed a committee on order or-der of business, which recommended that nominating speeches be limited to ten minutes; that a majority of those present be sufficient to a choice; that if no choice be made at the first session, that ten votes be taken at each session before adjournment.
