Show WOLCOTT, WORSTED IN OWN PARTY, BELIEVES TELLER WILL SUCCEED DENVER, Jan. The Legislature completed its organization today and the House Committee on Elections and Privileges will at once proceed to hear vidence in the numerous contests upon the result of which hangs the election of United, States Senator. The Republicans opposed to the candidacy of former Senator Edward O. Wolcott, who were enabled to organize the House by the aid of the Democrats, have guaranteed that all contests shall be tried on their merits and no member be arbitrarily expelled or without a ifalr trial. ' - . - Mr. Wolcott has announced that he will stay in the contest for the Senator-, ship to the end. but he has expressed the belief that the deal between his Republican Re-publican opponents and the Democrats means the re-election of Senator Henry 11. Teller. The balloting for Senator will begin January 20th. ' - The Senate organized this morning by electing W. H. Adams president pro tem. and Charles S. Sprague secretary. |
