Show James Spencer Buried Saturday Funeral services were held in the American Fork. Fourth ward chapel Saturday at 2: p. m. for James Spencer Spen-cer Sr.. 75, who died Wednesday-night Wednesday-night of last week at his home here following a short Alness of pneu- monia. Born in England; May 9, 1861, Mr. Spencer emigrated to America in his early youth. He married Christina Chris-tina Hansen and made his home in Draper for a number of years. Mrs. Spencer died in 1928 and a short time after he was married to Lillian M." Shafter of this city. Counselor Francis Abel was in charge of the services and announced announc-ed the program which was carried out as follows: "Oh My Father" sung by a mixed quartet the members mem-bers being Lot Robinson, Leo Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. Nan Wright, Mrs. LaRue Morton, accompanied by Mrs. -Ann C. Hansen who was accompanist for the services; prayer - counselor Daniel Jorgensen. Bishop William Ennis of Draper spoke of his acquaintance with Mr. Spencer and his family during the time they lived in Draper. Moral D. Steele sang "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" and Bishop Lot Robinson spoke of his acquaintance with the Spencers in the Fourth ward. He said Mr. Spencer was a man with the courage to stand out for his convictions, he was well versed vers-ed in the scriptures and had a firm belief in his religious principles. Closing remarks were made by Counselor Abel. Mrs. LaRue Morton Mor-ton sang "Going Home," and the benediction was pronounced by Johnathan Steggle. Interment was made in the American Amer-ican Fork City cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Leo T. Shelley. |
