Show Funeral Rites Held Tuesday For Helen Wilks Funeral services for Helen Carlson Ongley Wilks were held Tuesday, July 18, 1978 at 1 p.m. in the Sixth Ward Chapel, under the direction of Bishop Raymond Bastian. Mrs. Wilks died July 16 in the American Fork Hospital. Speaker at the services ser-vices was Daryl Huish, and Bishop Bastian also gave remarks. A tribute and life sketch was given by Elna Burgener. Mus-ial numbers were two vocal duets by Mary Nielsen and Ida Mae Christiansen, accompanied ac-companied by Anne Fisher. Prayers were offered by Leland R. Carlson, Ray Young and Ivan Eugene Colledge, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove cemetery was dedicated by Carl LaVar Carlson. Pallbearers were Ray Carlson, Ivan Colledge, Ralph Gillespie, Kendall Ken-dall Taylor, Kenneth Pender and Robert Brown. Mrs. Wilks was born Feb. 25, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Carl B. and Geneva Fullmer Carlson. She married Stanley J. Ongley in 1941 and they were later divorced. She married Ozmer Ellis Nov. 21, 1959, and he died. She married Bobby Wilks on Aug. 19, 1970, and they were later divorced. Survivors include one son, James Eugene Ongley, Salt Lake City; three grandchildren, father and stepmother, Lottie Carlson, Pleasant Grove; three brothers and five sisters, Leland Carlson and Mrs. Ivan (Fern) Colledge, both of Pleasant Grove. Carl LeVar Carlson and Mrs. Ralph (Merle) Gillespie, both of Orem; Ray Carlson and Mrs. Robert (Leone) Brown, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kendall (Mildred) Taylor, Salem; Mrs. Kenneth (June) Pender, West Jordan; two stepbrothers step-brothers and three step-sisters, Arlde L. Gates, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Tom (Mildred) Leong, San Francisco; J. C. Gates, Roosevelt; Mrs. Edith McClellen, Provo, and Mrs. James L. (Carolyn) Bruce, California. |
