Show Funeral Services Held Last Thursday For Mrs. Larson Relatives and friends gathered Thursday afternoon March 10, at the Olpin Mortuary to pay last tribute to the memory of Mrs. Stella Baker Larson, and express sympathy for the family. With Bishop Harvey Smith of Manila Ward in charge, the impressive im-pressive service began with prayer pray-er by Patriarch L. M. Atwood. Mrs. E. Ray Brown sang "O My Father," accompanied by Mrs. Kay Adams. Ernest Rasmussen of Provo, a son-in-law, read a sketch of the busy life and work of Mrs. Larson. Lar-son. Speakers who paid tribute to Mrs. Larson and her family were E. J. Swenson and Reed O. Walker of th-e high council, both of whom had known and worked with Mrs. Larson in church capacities many years, and knew of Tier worth as a mother and church worker. They were interspersed by a vocal solo, "Ave Maria" sung by Warren Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk. A. P. Wamick, after paying trii bute to the Larson family, chose as his text, "My Work and My Glory to bring about the eternal life of man." Bishop Harvey Smith, in closing clos-ing remarks of sympathy and appreciation ap-preciation for the family stressed the thought "Souls like that of a righteous mother never die." Final musical number, "Home Sweet Home," was sung by a ladies trio, Blanch Warnick, Nelda Warnick and Maurine Allen, accompanied ac-companied by Gwen Adams. Prelude Pre-lude and postlude music was played play-ed by Hal Haycock. Benediction was pronounced by E. M. Williams, a neighbor. Interment, directed by Olpin Mortuary, was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City cemetery. Pallbearers were Newell Larson, Lar-son, Kendall Rasmussen, Malin Rasmussen, grandsons, and Blaine Swenson, Ivan Monson and Alex Wadley. Flowers were cared for by the Manila Ward Relief Society. |
