Show Infant reading and writing workshop to be held at BYU Conference Center Your Infant reading and writing, (with your love) workshop will be held January 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 287 Conference Center, BYU. The noncredit tuition is $10. Teaching the class is Dr. Harvey B. Black. Registration may be done in advance at the BYU Conference Center or by phone at 378-3556 or at the door. Workshop participants will explore, ex-plore, evaluate and individually design their own family's approach to infant and lifelong academics from among the wide diversity of views and materials related to the why's and how's of infant academics. Dr. Black, a BYU professor of instructional science, has directed the Infant Print Fluency research project for the past three years. His completed doctoral research projects have demonstrated the impressive academic aptitude of children of age one through five. Currently, this work is being extended through computer games designed to teach infants to read and type on home computers. |
