Show Stake MM Society Makes Report and Offers Greetings At the closo of tbo year 1929, the Alpine Stake HeUet Society wish vo express appreciation and extend the season's Greetings to all -who have helped to raako tbo year's work jo successful. To the zealous officers of the six wards wo liavo only words of commendation com-mendation for their loyalty and splendid co-operation. Relief Society work Is of such a nature that its Influence reaches every home in the community. This Is largely due to the faithfulness of the visiting teachers who make monthly calls at the homes In their various districts. The three subjects, theology, U'.cr-aturo U'.cr-aturo and social service, taken up on their respective days are handled by efficient teachers who come well prepared pre-pared on the lesson to be discussed. Macscr, Tho Girl in The White Armor Ar-mor and An Amorlcan Idyl have already al-ready bcon taken up in the different Boclaties of the stake and our members mem-bers are now looking forward to souto delightful hours in tho perusal of A Son of The Middle Border, Schuman Ilelnk and others. I In tho Social Service department wo have two phases of work, the ' lessons nnd the health conferences. These two coincide and all Ig planned plann-ed to help mothers In the care, wel-faro wel-faro and training ot their children in habits of morality and health. The past year's work has been very gratifying grat-ifying and we feel that a keener Interest In-terest and appreciation for this work Is being manifest each year. Nine Health conferences have been held during the year. At these an average of 82 babies and pre-school The latent talent ot our community in music, art and teaching in being discovered and used in each, organisation. organi-sation. Relief Society offers a wonderful cou.-so of study to its members and it is pleasing to not how much Interest In-terest is being manifest by the younger young-er mothers in some of the wards. Lessons in theology lor the next three years, will be studies of the Book of Mormon and it is hoped that very member of the organizations -will read the book during the year. As we read we shall study the Book of Mormon peoples in connection with their social, political and religious religi-ous ideas. The book is highly spiritu al. No one con read it through with- children have been examined. Through the efforts of the Relief Society Sister b and the services of our local doctors about 15 operations for tonBils and other troubles have been taken care of. We cannot say j too much In appreciation for the wonderful support that has been given giv-en us by our local doctors and dentists den-tists in helping to put over this health work in our stake, and we take this opportunity of impressing our thanks to them. Also to the city officials for the use of the City Hall, to Marshal Durrant for having the place clean and warm and to the Sisters who are so faithful in this loving service. We are aniticipatlng even greater results for the coming year. n out experiencing a feeling of exaltation exalta-tion and faith in God. Our Literary course comprises nine volumes of biography, not only are these books of great interest from a literary viewpoint, but for the beauty of life they portray. Karl G. |
