Show Auditions set for PCP production of 'Death Trap' Park City Performances has announced that audition for the Irwin Shaw mystery, Death Trap, will be held at the Egyptian Theatre Monday, Oct. 3 and Tuesday, oct. 4 at 7 p.m. The production calls for three men and two women. Set in modern times, this chilling play deals with murder among friends. Characters include an aging playwright suffering from writer's block; a promising and talented young playwright; the older man's beautiful wife; a female psychic; and a postman. Directing this exciting show will be Craig Clyde, who is currently production manager at Channel 20, KSTU-TV KSTU-TV in Salt Lake City. Clyde has extensive acting and directing credits, and he is presently a finalist for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's Children's Program Grant for a one-hour one-hour show he wrote. A professional broadcaster for the past 10 years, he won the Idaho Playwright's Medallion in 1973 for an original musical and was nominated for a national "Iris" award in 1981. He wrote the compelling Killing Radius which was seen on the stage of the Egyptian Theatre last November. A native of Yakima, Washington, Clyde graduated with a degree in English from Washington State University. Death Trap was recently featured on pay-TV adapted adap-ted for film starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve and Dyanne Cannon. For information regarding auditions, call the theatre at 649-9371. |
