All children from infancy through five years of age, and their caregivers, are invited to attend for stories and learning activities. Children are introduced to books, music, and art, and participate in learning activities. Infants to 3 years, 10:30 a.m.; four and five year olds at 11:00 a.m. A craft activity to follow at 11:30. Every Monday and Tuesday: Math tutoring for children ages 6 to 9 at the Ogden Valley Montessori School from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., and 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Cost, $5 per hour. Every Saturday: Community, recreational cattle sorting at the Eden Park Arena. 6:00 p.m. warm-up, 7:00 p.m. the fun begins! Everyone is invited. $10:00 per person/per night. As part of the Smithsonian Institute’s Traveling Exhibition titled “American Food,” Mel Bartholomew will demonstrate his Square Foot Gardening techniques at 10:00 a.m., and again at 2:00 p.m. Come learn the simplest gardening method known, and enjoy free hamburgers, hot dogs, and lemonade courtesy of the Ogden Valley branch library in Huntsville. It will be held at the Ogden Valley Library at 6:30 p.m. In addition to a potluck dinner, members will be showing what they are, and have been working on, and display some of their favorite quilting tools. Everyone is invited. August 30: Public star party at Antelope Island State Park at the Whiterock Bay trail head, 8:30-11:00 p.m., free but $8 per car admission to park, 626-6855. September 1: Labor Day September 14: The Annual St. Joseph School Golf Tournament will be held at the Wolf Creek Resort with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start and a 4-person scramble format. Your entry fee will include a continental breakfast, greens fee, cart, lunch, and great prizes. Sponsorships are also available. September 19: First Annual Ogden Valley Triathlon from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a “carbo-loading” dinner hosted by Huntsville’s Yukon Grill and The Rendezvous Lodge. For more information call 745-0808. September 20: Ogden Valley Business Association and TriUtah have come together to bring the First Annual Ogden Valley Triathlon to Ogden Valley. To participate in the Triathlon, register on line at www.tri-utah.com. Volunteers are needed to assist with the aid stations along the course. Event begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Eden Park. Four routes to choose from. Eight miles or 30 miles around the Valley, 64 miles, or 100 miles over Trapper’s Loop and around Morgan Valley. Pre registration $30.00. $35.00 day of. For riders of all ages. Riders get lunch and snacks, tee shirt and maps. See page 5.
