Show UTAH CAPITALIST DIES IN CALIFORNIA SALT I.AKK, Dec. 31. Thomas Smart, formerly of Salt Lake, and ne of tho leading capitalists of the State, died at Los Angeles last Friday evening after a long Illness, according to Information received here last night. Smart was one of tho leaders in the commercial and Industrial factions fac-tions of the state and Is known In all sections of Utah. He was 69 years of age and was born at American Fork. Ho camo to Salt Iako four yeurs ago and resided at 16 Haxton place. The decedent If survived by his widow and tho following children: Mrs. Catherine Foss. rrc.ston. Idaln. Carl L. Smart, sheepman with headquarters head-quarters In Salt Lake; 55ella Smart. Los Angeles; Mada Powell, Ivogan, Iorenzo Smart. Providence. Utah; Uarda Wright, Salt Lake; Julius H. Smith, attending college at Los Angeles, An-geles, and Helen D. Pearson, Baltimore. Balti-more. The body will be taken to Ixgan, where funeral services will be conducted con-ducted In the tabernacle next Thursday Thurs-day One of tho speakers will bo H. K. Crockett, secretary of state, who gained his first experience in the banking business under Mr. Smart Apostles Melvln D. Ballard and John A. WidLsoe and President E. G.
