Show Rugby to Be Fostered in California Schools 4 STANFORD UNIVERSITY, May lj Announcement of the organization ot a state high school rugby league was made here by Harry W. -Maloney.j president of the California Rugby Union, following a conference with athletic directors of various high schools. The leaguo will work in conjunction con-junction with the California Rugby Union and foster tho playing of rugby in high schools of the state. j Three subleagues have been formed tho winners of which will play each other for the state championship. The league proposes to secure a trip for the state championship teach each Christmas vacation to Vancouver, where it will play with tho leading preparatory teams of British Columbia. Colum-bia. Trophies and Individual medals i will be awarded to the slate cham-J jpionship team and to the subleague champions, as well. Membership in the subleagues is as follows: Oakland, subleague Fre-jmont, Fre-jmont, Oakland Vocational.
