Show MIX 'emits 'em-its the gay new way to serve SOUPS Dorothy Greig 1 YES, that's the new fashion of the day to blend together two or more soups to achieve individual , flavors, delicious flavors. It's fun to do, too, especially for summer meals. A combination of two or more 'soups makes an unusual and ap- petizing beginning to a meal. Soup, of course, in itself stimulates appetite ap-petite and, being hot, It helps keep digestions happy. Since we all need a little hot food with every summer meal, a quick easy-to-prepare hot dish like soup is a happy choice. For instance, Wendy Barrie, bright and twinkling star in the .motion picture sky, suggests this as one of her favorite soups. Its flavor is lively and it is a colorful gay dish to set before a guest. Summertime Cream Soup 4 tablespoons butter Vi cup leeks, sliced 1 large cucumber, sliced 2 cans condensed chicken soup 1 cup milk cup cream J cup condensed tomato soup Melt the butter and cook the j leeks and cucumbers until soft, but not brown. Then add the chicken J soup and simmer gently for 20 1 minutes. Put through a strainer I forcing the rice and as much of the cucumber and leek as will easily go through (another easy way is to force through the potato ricer). Add the hot milk and cream and at the last, add the tomato soup, heated. Serves 4-6.
