Show Boxelder Bug Battle Should Get Under Way Boxelder bug annoyance In homes, offices and school buildings build-ings can be greatly reduced by destroying the bugs as they con-gegrate con-gegrate in masses to sun themselves them-selves on the sunny sides of build- j ings and on the trunks of large trees, advises Dr. G. F. Knowl-ton, Knowl-ton, associate entomologist of the Utah State Agricultural Experiment Experi-ment station. Thorough treatment of the bug masses with good commercial fly spray will kill large numbers, entomologist en-tomologist Knowlton said. A second, sec-ond, lighter treatment of boxelder bugs which are "still kicking," about twenty minutes after the first spray application, will prevent pre-vent many from recovering. Box. elder bugs are difficult to kill, when adult, an dthoroughness in treatment is essential to successful success-ful control, Dr. Knowlton points out. |
