Show FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. WME. MADSEN Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Woodring Madsen, wife of William E Madsen,, , w-hose death Thursday" morning, April 3rd, followed an attack at-tack of Influenza, were held at the residence Saturday afternoon, Rev. R. B. Norton of the Presbyterian church officiating. The opening prayer was offered by President C. N. Lund and the benediction was pronounced by Rev. R. B. Norton. The hymns "I Need Thee Every Hour," Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," were sung by a quartet comprising Miss Nettie Beaumann, Miss Eva Carter, O. J. " Harney and R. L. Malmsten. Bishop H. C. Jacobs and Rev. Norton were the speakers, both of whom paid jglowing tributes to the kind and loving character of Mrs.-Madsen. . At the grave in the city cemetery the .committal service was read . by Rev. Norton. The floral offerings were indeed many and beautiful, showing that the departed has a host of friends to mourn her sad departure. The entire community extends its syrripathy to Mr. Madsen and family in their sad bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. William Woodring of Bingham Canyon and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Woodring of Garfield came here to attend the funeral. Miss Winora Cherry and Mi'ss Nellie Nel-lie Madsen, who are attending the B. Y. U. at Provo, spent the week end with relatives in this city. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Vernon Clemensen, who returned return-ed last week after a year's service overseas. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. George Clemensen, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Clemensen, Alfred Neilsen, Newton Clemensen, G. Vernon Vern-on Clemensen, Frank Clemensen, Mrs. A. Crane, Miss Emma Clemensen, Clemen-sen, Harold Wall, Betty Wall, and Mr. and Mrs. Wall. Mr and Mrs. William Hansen entertained en-tertained at dinner Sunday for John Chistensen, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Oleen of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Amelia Olsen. Covers were placed for ten. Miss Veva Rawson of Carey, Idaho, - who is attending the B. Y. -U. at Provo, Pro-vo, spent the week end with Miss Ruth Candland. " Mrs. Harold Sorenson and children child-ren of Axtell were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Monsen,, Sunday.' |
