Show j Spring City Judge Jacob Johnson is a business visitor in Salt Lake this week. Jess Billington has returned to Bingham where he has emplo yment in one of the mines. James Pederson has gone to Price to look afiei his stock interests there. He will be gone several months. James Clawson, state dairy inspec' tor, has been in Provo ana Gunnison during the eek. Larsha Strate entertained a few of her friends last Friday evening. Games was a feature of the evening's entertainment. Light refreshments were served. Mrs. D. J. Thomas of Wales, form' erly Mrs. L. C. Williams of Spring City, left for Mercur Monday to be with her daughter, Mrs. Bacon, who is to undergo an operation there soon Miss Lola Madsen and Mrs. Lewis Black is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Johnson atManti. Mrs. J. M. Johnson of the Young Men's Co op, is a visitor in Salt Lake this week on business. Word has been received in this city to the effect that Sheriff Knudsen has made an arrest in Chester for bootlegging. Born, Jan. 28, 1912, to the wife of Peter M. Christensen, a boy. ! Among those who are sick in our city are Mrs. Mary A. Frandsen, Maria Jensen, Hannah Rasmussen, and Jane Ford, all are aged people. Mrs. Moses Nelson is making ar extended visit here with her parents, while her husband is continuing hit studies in law at Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent- Billington have gone to Eureka to live. George W. Brough and Gilbert Brough and wife of Garland, are here on a visit with relatives. Mrs. J. Morgan Johnson has gone to Manti to remain with her sister for a few aays. Through the efforts of the Home Culture club of Spring City, a stop of the Agricultural train has been secured for March 3rd. The train will arrive at 12 o'clock and remain until Monday. The Snow Academy Dramatic Co., of Ephraim presented the popular comedy, "A Vision of the Future," Monday evening, Jan. 29th. A good crowd was out and all seemed to enjoy en-joy the college play. The annual old folks party was held Thursday, Jan. 25th, at the Opera Op-era Housp. A committee of about 50 prepared for the event. The old folks assembled at 10 a. m. All over 60 year of age, widows, widowers, and missionaries wives were the invited in-vited guests. A warm dinner was furnished and the tables presented a beautiful sightladen with everything in the line of eatables. One hundred and eighty persons were seated at the banquet, the program began at 2 p. m. Mayor John S. Blain acting as toastmaster. |
