Enlisting as S a privn'e io 'ne - 9 Missouri National "" J Guard' Mr- Wil" a Hams rose to the ps$ -" Jf rank of first lieu- LjUk A tenant- In the A. E. F., he served as a machine gun officer with the .Thirty-fifth division in the Vosges mountains and In the Argonne-Meuse Argonne-Meuse drive. After the armistice, he served as instructor In the A. E. F. university at Beaune and later assisted assist-ed in publicity in cdnnection with the interallied games. Mr. Williams, who is a member of Robert S. Thurman post 13, Joplln, Mo., served as post commander and state master-at-arms previously to his election as department head. He is editor of the Joplln News Herald. |
