Show Hold Rites At Salina For Af ton B. Parsons Funeral services were held Friday Fri-day at 12 noon for Mrs. Afton Mary Black Parsons, at Salina 1st ward church, conducted by Bishop Maurice Rasmussen. Mrs. Parsons died Tuesday of a lingering illness. Prelude was played by Mrs. Clay ton Rasmussen, and the mixed quartet sang "Come Unto Jesus". Opening prayer was by Melvin Done, followed by a song by Donna Don-na Rasmussen, "The End of a Perfect Per-fect Day." The first speaker was Mr. Bag-ley Bag-ley of Aurora. Following his talk Mrs. Jacobson sang "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose." The second speaker was Ira Rasmussen. Closing Clos-ing song by the quartet was "We Will Meet Beyond The River." The Relief Society had the flowers flow-ers in charge. The body was then brought to the Deseret cemetery for burial where the grave was dedicated by J. A. Bennett. Mrs. Parsons is survived by her husband, Walter Parsons of Salina and six children, Ladd Holt, DeVon, 'Fon Ray, Rita Belle, Glen Larry i and Jay Parsons, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marian Black, of Deseret, and a brother, Oral Black, Deseret. |
