Show Desert Sentinels Give Outstanding Benefit Concert The Desert Sentinels always give an excellent concert, and their performance per-formance last Thursday night in Palomar was doubly so. From their opening song, "Thy Sentinel Am I," through their tyelfth number, "Cool Water," the 65-voice male chorus was superb. The audience was large and appreciative and the fine music received prolonged prolong-ed applause. Ladd R. Cropper directed the group, and Mrs. Cropper played the piano accompaniments. Rulon Callister, Sentinels' president, spoke briefly and introduced Dana Pratt as master of ceremonies for the evening. Miss Marcene Camp from Idaho, was guest soloist, with Jack Bowman Bow-man as accompanist. Miss Vamp has a lovely sporano voice and delighted de-lighted the audience with her group of songs. The concert was a benefit for the stake building fund, for the construction of the new Deseret Stake and Delta Third ward church house. At the close of the concert Marion Henrie, A. O. Gard ner and Eldon Eliason, of the Deseret Des-eret Stake building committee, expressed ex-pressed their appreciation of the harmonious Sentniels and the whole hearted support of the program pro-gram by the public. |
