Show BOWMAN SUCCEEDS BAILEY ON BOARD JOHN BARTON WINS J BEAVER ELECTION V Henry Bowman was elected to the Beaver County Board of Education at the school election Wednesday. Mr. Bowman was named over the present incumbent, C. A. Bailey, by a vote of 242 to 55. Three ballots were spoiled. The vote was light in proportion to this district's voting strength but the prevalent) influenza doubtless kept many from the polling place. The term for which Mr. Bowman was elected is one of four years and he will take office January 1, 1929. The election in Beaver was much more closely contested than here, and with three candidates in the field, interest in-terest was high. John Barton, who has been president of the board, was re-elected to the body over his rivals, T. L. Griffiths and Bob Nowers. He had an overwhelming majority. o |
