Show NEW LIGHT RATES GO INTO EFFECT TELLURIDE STATES NEW SCHEDULE WILL BE LOWER Published elsewhere in this issue are 'the new light schedules of the Telluride Power company. These new rates were filed on December 1, with the Public Utilities Commission of Utah and will become effective January Janu-ary 1. The rates cover residential and commercial lighting - H. B. Waters, General Manager of the Telluride Power company, states that they will make for a saving of approximately $6,000,00 to customers served from the Telluride system during the coming com-ing year. The partial renewal of mining business busi-ness in Southern Utah during the past year has made a modest increase in the company's revenues, according to Mr. Waters. He says that while the net earnings are still far below an adequate return on the investment devoted entirely to supplying electric service, the directors of the company have determined to make this voluntary volun-tary rate reduction in advance of its justification, in the belief that business busi-ness conditions in the Telluride territory terri-tory will continue to improve. Ths is in keeping with the Tellu-ride's Tellu-ride's general policy of many years' standing, that of offering the lowest rates possible in the sparsely settled territory served. |
