Show Couple Celebrates Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Myers, for the past several years residents at the "experiment farm", southeast of town, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Monday, November 12, with a big supper being served in their honor and many beautiful presents pre-sents given to them. Among! those i present were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Myers, and three ; granddaughters, Mrs. Glen Barnes, Mrs. .Charles Hollis and Mrs. Bill j Singleton (the latter two accompani-icd accompani-icd by their husbands) and six ad- ditional invited guests, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Banks, Mr. and Mrs. 'Ed i Myers, Leonard Banks and , Mrs. Letha Martin and two grandchildren. Ten great grandchildren were i pre-i pre-i sent. Two sons and one daughter were unable to be present. ' J. W. Myers was born in Salt Lake City January 20, 1800, the son of Joseph Myers. When he was five years of age his parents moved to Beaver and they lived there three years, then moved to Minersville, where he grew to manhood. It was (here he met his wife, then Mary Mc-Knight, Mc-Knight, the daughter of Bishop James McKnight. She was born in Minersville January 8, 18C6, and lived there until she was a grown woman. They were married in the St. George temple in 1884 and returned re-turned to Minersville to make their homo and there they raised a larg family. In 1919 they moved to Milford, Mil-ford, where they have since resided. |
