Show Senior Wins Medal In Oration Contest The Armintice Daj' program given Monday afternqon . at the Milford high, school was well attended by Milford : townspeople and students, the chief attraction being the oratorical oratori-cal contest which was sponsored- by the American Legion Auxiliary. The results of the contest were very gratifying to the Auxiliary members who are proud to have within the community young people who will put forth such effort and who show that they really have a desire de-sire to accomplish something along the line of public speaking. - The subjects chosen : by the contestants con-testants were all of great interest and were handled in such a manner j that, making a choice proved difficult for the judges. Miss Roberta Morris was selected as . winning and was awarded the bronze medal by the Auxiliary president, Mrs. Leonard Bowen. The judges of the contest were Mrs. J. L. Lowe, Mrs. Vena E. Wilson and Harry Smurthwaite. J. M. Hughes, past commander of tlie Legion, presided at the following j program: Music by tbe high school orchestra. Presentation of colors. Invocation, M. J. Christensen. Violin solo, Margaret Moore. I Contest speeches as follow: "Patriotism" by Ray Fisher. I "Being a Good American" by I Roberta Morris.
