Tho amount paid In various parts of tho union varied from a maximum max-imum of nearly $59,000,000 In New York to a minimum of $3,000 In Alaska. Pennsylvania was tho second stato, with something over $18,500, 000. Other states whero moro than $10,000,000 was paid In llfo-Insurnnco claims were, In order of amount, Illinois, Illi-nois, Ohio and Now Jersey.
