Show Republicans Jubilate The repnblicaos of this city held a grand jolliflcatioa Saturday night to ratify the election of the city ticket. Early in the eening, before the sun had hardly gone down the boom of the cannon could be heard, and the noise of said cannon caused people to think that the campaign was not yet over. About 7:30 p. m. a procession was formed in front of the bank, and a large number of persons ''fell in." The procession was headed by the Manti band. The line of march was down Main street to the city hall and thence back to the tabernacle, where a large throng had assembled to hear the speakers, and the glee club. The speakers, who by the way were quite nnmerons, complimented the republicans of Manti on their recent victory, and when referring to the election elec-tion of Cleveland took the matter philo-sophically philo-sophically and said that the people had put the democrats in power and they were to have a four year's trial. If tbeii ruling proved better than the repnbi cans' all would "be satisfied, especially the repnblicans. The meeting was a very enthusiastic one, and whan it finally fin-ally adjourned, all followers of Lincoln were feeiing quite good. |
