Show The Democrats Jubilate The democrats held a great hurrah aud joliQeation Monday night to ratify the national and territorial election. A big bonfire was built iu the centre of the street and kept burning until daylight day-light Tuesday morning. A torch light possession headed by the Ephraiiri band marched down Main street to the temple hotel aud counter-marched v the taber- nacle. A large number of persons of both politicil faiths were at the meeting. meet-ing. The speakers congratulated tLe democracy of Utah and the nation upon her splendid victory of the 8th inst, There were quite a number of visitors present, from the neighboring cities and towns, nnd the hurrah was kept up ti 1 the wee sma' hours. The music of the Ephraim band, was greatly appreciated. One thing which we think should not be allowed is the shot gun brigade, not because be-cause of the noise they make. If they are allowed to shoot guns loaded with "wad" some persons may take advantage of the privilege and disehargo pistols and gnus loaded with bullets, and much harm may result- |
