In the case eay the republicans', it will be confessing that their policy is not a good one, We believe they will stick to the platform and thus keep their promise made to the people. peo-ple. Whether the policy of ihe democratic party is better ihan that of the republican party is not for ub to say. It may and it may not, a practical test will tell better than anything else, and we hope the democrats wiil try their hand. One thing the election will do is that it will set at rest a great many doubts in the minds of the American people. If the democratic idea is better than that of their opponents op-ponents they now have a chance to prove it. If it is better the American people will stick to it, if it is not as good, then in 1896 then will be another landslide with things moving the other way. |
