Wednesday morning about daybreak tho officers and their combined posses surprised tho rioters In their camp and called on them to surrender. Tho reply re-ply was a shot. This was answered by a shot, nnd Immediately a furious bnttlo was raging. When It ceased thrco of tho rioters lay dead and many others wero found to bo wounded, two of them fatally.
