Show OUTLOOK IN CONGRESS. tatehood Bill Before the House and Anti-Trust Measure In the Senate. The anti-trust bill, which was sched, led for early consideration in the house, his week, will not come up until ate in the week, if at all, and possibly nay be postponed until next week. The. 'riends of the currency bill are exceed-ngly exceed-ngly anxious to get consideration tor t, and a rule has been prepared. If it Inally should be decided to allow th currency bill to come in after the post-office post-office appropriation bill is disposed of, the anti-trust bill will be shut out this week. The Democrats and Republicans have been conferring about the limit of the anti-trust bill debate, and a tentative agreement has been reported to allow two days' general debate on-the on-the measure. The omnibus statehood bill will continue con-tinue for the present to hold its place as the unfinished business on the senate sen-ate calendar, but it seems quite probable prob-able that the discussion of the statehood state-hood bill will come up in connection, with the appropriation bills. Senator Quay has entirely changed his tactics during the past week, and after trying in vain to secure a quorum for night sessions on two different occasions, has abandoned all efforts in that direction, leaving the senators who oppose the statehood bill to take the responsibility responsibil-ity for delay. |
