Show Bold Work Of Holdups. Shortly before the recent attempted at-tempted robbery of Morrison's store, T. P. Morris, who lives on Ninth West between Fourth and Fifth Houth streets, was held up by three men at Seventh West and Fifth South. It is believed the three men walked at once from the scene of this crime to the grocery store at 431 south First West. Morris had gone dowD town to pny a bill and was returning home shortly after dark. Three men approached near the intersection inter-section of the streets and ordered him to throw up his hands. Instead In-stead of complying M orris siezed the two nearest to him and : struggled desperately with them. 'The third man seized him by the throat. Re was soon overpowered, overpow-ered, a gag was thrust iuto his I mouth and he was bound tightly jhand and foot. The robbers took '810.30 from his pocHetsa.ua lett , hhn lying. in the street ; Alter the hold-ups left Morris j tried to loosen the ropes which bound him. but as ' his hands .were tightly fastened behind his I back the effort was futile. . This strenuous journey j through the snow was at lengitj completed and Morris fen ex hausted on his own doorstep. Mrs. Morris quickly untied tae ropes that bound her husband and in a few moments he wns himself again, with, however, some ugly red marks oa his wrists where the thongs had pressed his flesh. . A detail of police was ' sent to the scene but found no trace of the holdups. |
