Show Eclipse of the Sun. There will be an eclipse of the sun January 11th. The eclipse will be invisible east of a line drawn through St. Joseph, Missouri, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Visible to the western quarter of North America, the Pacific Ocean and extreme northern edge of Australia, being central and total along a line distant twenty miles south of, and parallel to a line drawn through Monterey, California, Mariposa? and Salt Lake City. Elsewhere it will be partial. The eclipse will be as follows. Denver, Colorado, 4h. 1m. p.m.; Santa Fe, 1h. 4m. p.m.; Salt Lake city, Utah, 3h. 24m. p.m.; Victoria, Vancouver Island, 2h. 25m. p.m.; San Francisco, 2h. 28?m.; Monterey, California, 2h. 38m. p.m.; San Diego, 8h. 5m. p.m., the sun setting more or less eclipsed. At Victoria, Australia, the sun will rise on the morning of January 12 slightly eclipsed, and the eclipse continuing for fifteen minutes. |
