Show Hugh M. Burt Dies In Wyoming, Funeral on Monday Funeral services for Hugh Matheson Burt, 48, of Parowan who died at the Wyoming ranch belonging to the Evans Brothers of this city, on Oct. 12, were held on Monday of this week. Burt has been employed em-ployed by the Evans, Arthur and Alma, in the livestock operations op-erations both here and at Lone Tree, Wyo, for a number of years. Services were held at 2 p. m. in the First-Second Ward Chapel Cha-pel with Homer Adams of the Second Ward bishopric conducting. con-ducting. Speakers for the services ser-vices were Arthur Evans, Taylor Tay-lor Miller, with brief remarks by Elder Adams. The opening prayer was offered of-fered by Alma Evans, the closing prayer was by Bishop Bruce Matheson, and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery was dedicated by James C. Burt. The family prayer at the home was offered by Wm. C. Burt, a brother of the deceased. deceas-ed. Mrs. June M. Decker was at the organ for prelude and postlude music and also play-a play-a piano medley as a part of the musical program. Other musical numbers were two songs "Sometime We'll Understand" Under-stand" and "I Need Thee Every Hour" by a double mixed mix-ed quartet consisting of Clair Rowley, Kent Marsdan, Rulan Dalton, Watson Adams, Bertrude Ber-trude Mitchell, Alice Mitchell, Roberta Rowley and Berta Daltqn with Itha Mortensen at the piano. Pallbearers were William, James, Phillip, David and Roger Ro-ger Burt and William Angel, ana nowers were carried Dy members of the family. Military rites for the services ser-vices were in charge of members mem-bers of Parowan Post No. 20, American Legion. Mr. Burt was born in Parowan Paro-wan to Wilson Gates and Grace Darling Matheson Burt on Jan. 12, 1919. He attended the local elementary and high school and was a member of! the LDS Church. He married Maxinc Kand Mar. 21, 1313 at Minneapolis, Minn. Later divorced. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Monna Lee Bajr, Comp-ton, Comp-ton, Calif., and Mrs. Marsha Rae Ferric, Hawthorne, Calif.; one grandchild; his father, Parowan; brothers and sisters, sis-ters, Wm. C. and Mrs. May 1 Angel, Parowan; David A. Burbank,, Utah and Mrs. Grace Murphy, Klamath Falls, Ore. |
