Show Funeral Services Held for Vern D. Applegate Funeral services i - Vern D. Applegate, who passed away as the result of a circulatory ailment ail-ment at the Robinson Brothers sheep range in Cottonwood Canyon Can-yon east of Buckhorn, were held Thursday, July 9 in the First Second Ward chapel. Bishop Rupert Hulct of the Second Ward conducted the services ser-vices and Mrs. Dot Smith was at the organ for prelude and post-lude post-lude music. Speakers included Howard Joseph and Mrs. Barbara M. Adams, with opening remarks by Bishop Hulet. The opening song, 'That Beautiful Beau-tiful Land," and the closing one, "Behold Tis Eventide," were rendered ren-dered by a double mixed quartet, and Robert O. Wilcfx k sang ai vocal solo, "Home On the Range" accompanied on the piano by Ruth Ann Knight. Members of the mixed quartet were Kent Marsden, Robert Wilcock, Karl Thurber, Mr. and Mrs. Rulan Dalton, Dal-ton, Mrs. Wilma Wort hen, Mrs. Mary Dawn Dalton, and Mrs. Ar-vllla Ar-vllla Haltcrman, with Mrs. Smith at the piano. The prayer at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Robinson, where the body lay prior to services, was offered by Willis Robinson. The Invocation was offered by Lloyd A. Benson, the benediction was by Vern Holyoak and the grave In the Parowan City cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by a brother James C. Applegate. Members of Parowan Post No. 20 of the American Icgion posted post-ed the colors and eonducted military mili-tary rites at the cemetery under the direction of Earl Bunn, pof-t commander. Pallbearers were six nephews: Elbert, and Gale Applegate, Bob, Willis, Lonald and Carlos Robinson. Robin-son. Flowers were carried by nieces of the deceased. |
