Show Cedar City Matron Dies, Funeral Services Held Monday Mrs. Kate E. Kline Powell, 87 Cedar City, died Friday after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Cedar City Presbyterian Church Monday by Rev. Grayson E. Gowen, with Mrs. Richard Winterrose as soloist and Reed Berrett, organist. Burial was in the Cedar City cemetery. Mrs. Powell was born July 10, 1877 at Alta, Iowa, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Cope Kline. She married William Poulson June 14, 1893, who died in 1930. They were the parents of three children, chil-dren, two of whom survive her, Mrs. Clayton (Berneice) Lewis, Cedar City, and William Poulson Wheatland, Wyo. On June 5, 1937 she married Harry B. Powell, who died In Cedar City in 1963. She had resided re-sided in Cedar City for some time and was a member of the Cedar City Presbyterian Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 20. Besides her son and daughter she is survived by seven grandchildren, grand-children, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters, Charloy Kline, Grants Pass, Ore.; Mrs. Maude Warner, Mrs. Mary Hamilton, both Denver, Den-ver, Colo.; Mrs. Alta Zumbrun, Mrs. Laura Druba, both Cheyene, Wyo. and Mrs. Leona Adamson, Laramie, Wyo. |
