Show Wedding Etiquet. When a girl is married in a traveling dress the number of bridesmaids should be limited to one. If the bride goes straight away from the church friends do not expect to be invited to the ceremony. As a rule, only the nearest relatives and a few intimate friends receive Invitations. In-vitations. The bridal bouquet is oftener than not dispensed with, a few orange blossoms blos-soms being used in the trimming of the hat or toque Instead. But there is no rule against either bride or bridesmaid carrying a bouquet; bou-quet; and whether they do or not is merely a matter of personal inclinations inclina-tions on their part To invite sruests to the church only and not to return to the house afterward, after-ward, except under special circumstances, circum-stances, is not considered in quite good taste. And to Invite them to the reception and not to the ceremony is viewed in the same way. The custom of proposing healths at the wedding breakfast, or tea, has almost al-most died out. In any case only those of the bride, bridegroom and bridesmaids brides-maids are proposed. The bride provides her trousseau and her presents to the bridesmaids. These are her only expenses. Her father pays for flowers to decorate deco-rate the church, if any are used. He also pays the choir if the services is a musical one, and provides the carpet and awning that are used on the pathway path-way to the church door. |
