Show Obituary. The bods- of Mr. J. D. Cummlngs, who died on Sunday, Nov. 3. was shipped to the family home in Shelby, O., for interment. Mr. Cummlngs was a sufferer from tuberculosis and came to Colorado in search of health, but too late. r Miss Emma Hovorka, eldest daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hovorka, died on Monday, Nov. 4, at the family home, 4349 Zenobia street. Miss Hovorka Ho-vorka belonged to a family prominent in the upbuilding of the Holy Family parish. Her brother is organist of the church, and her father leader and director di-rector of the choir. Miss Hovorka herself her-self was active in several religious societies so-cieties and a teacher In the little Sunday Sun-day school. Only a few months ago the Hovorka family had the proud distinction dis-tinction of assembling in Holy Family church and assisting at the first mass celebrated by young Father Hovorka, a brother of the dead girl. Another brother consecrated his life to God six years ago, but died after a short service ser-vice in His vineyard. Requiem mass was said for Miss Emma Hnvni-v Wednesday, Nov. 6, by Rev. Lawrence Fde, S. J., In Holy Family church. The remains were shipped at noon the same day to Minnesota, accompanied by several members of the bereaved family. The body of Miss Agnes McCuno, who died in Denver on Nov. 4, was shipped to Elmwood, 111., for interment. inter-ment. s)e The funeral of John Sullivan, who died in Canon City on Nov. 4, was held on Wednesday from St. Leo's church in West Denver, Rev. Father O'Ryan celebrating requiem mass. Interment 1 was in Mount Olivet cemetery. The remains re-mains were accompanied to Denver by a brother, Timothy Sullivan of Canon City. Another brother, Cornelius Sullivan, Sul-livan, of Georgetown, Colo., came to the city to attend the funeral. 5fc 1 Jfc On Saturday, Nov. 9, Miss Nellie McDonald passed away at her homo, 1917 AVashington avenue. Her funeral occurred Tuesday with requiem mass at Logan Avenue chapel. Interment was In Mount Calvary cemetery. Mls3 McDonald was employed as a stenographer stenog-rapher in the Denver National bank, and had been here but a short time, having come from Chicago. lh.. Katherino Rollenberger. wife of Gotllob Rollengerger of 3525 Wewatta street, died on Saturday, Nov. 9, after a short illness. Funeral was held Monday Mon-day morning from ' Annunciation church, and was attended by a large number of friends and representatives of religious societies of which deceased and . her husband had bean members during their long term of residence in Denver. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. The body of Georgie Simpson, who died at the Christian Brothers college in Baltimore on Saturday, Nov 2. was brought to Denver . and interred in Mount Olivet cemetery on Friday, Nov. 8. Owing to the fact that he succumbed suc-cumbed to a contagious disease, the funeal was necessarily private, but on Friday, Nov. !", Rev. Father McMenamin McMena-min sang requiem high mass in Logan Avenue chapel for the repose of his soul. Many friends of the family attended, at-tended, also his former teachers and companions in Immaculate Conception school. Georgie was the only son of i Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Simpson of 1719 j GilDin street. A sister. Miss Muriel : Simpson, also survives him. 'fi Mis. Mary Cody, a Colorado pioneer, and one of the oldest residents of St. Patrick's oarish, was called to her reward re-ward on Sunday, Nov. 10. Her funeral occurred Wednesday morning from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Hogah, 2245 West Twenty-ninth avemie.i Requiem Re-quiem mass wa ssaid at St. Patrick's church by Rev. Father Carrigan. Burial Bu-rial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mrs. Cody is survived by two daughters. daugh-ters. Mrs. Katherine Hogan and Miss Annie Cody. |
