Show Weddir.o, Dc!!s. "Walker-Stewart. An event of last week in which many friends were interested was the wedding wed-ding of Miss Nellie Walker and Dr. M. j R. Stewart, which took place last Sat- urday .evening at the residence of the bi'ide's nvether. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Pinkerton of the Christian church and the even: was followed by a large and brilliant reception from 9 till 11 o'clock. At the hour of S an orchestra stationed sta-tioned in the hall began the strains of the Lohengrin "Bridal Chorus," and the bridal party entered the drawing room, coming through the large parlor to the west and passing to the southeast south-east corner of the house, where the groom, his best man, Dr. I. .M. Fisher, and the clergyman awaited them. First came the matron of honor, Mrs. Walter Lewis of Butte. Following her immediately imme-diately came Mrs. Eccles and Mr. Walter Wal-ter Lewis, and a few steps farther back came Mrs. Walker, the mother of the j bride, and Mr. Oscar Kent Lewis. The bride entered leaning on the arm of i her brother. Sharp Walker, but later she stood beside her mother, who gave : her away in the ceremony. All through : the ceremony the soft, sweet notes of , the "Spring Song," by Mendelssohn, were heard, as rendered by Willard Weihe, the violinist As? the beautiful j service ended, the orchestra took up the j notes, and the stronger tones of the j Mendelssohn "Wedding March'' filled the house. The ceremony was wit- j nessed toy the family only, but shortly after it the guests began to arrive, and j from then till a late hour the home was ' thronged with the friends of the young j couple, showering congratulations and good wishes- on them. The Intermountain Catholic joins with a legion of friends in wishing Dr. Stewart and his charming wife all happiness hap-piness and prosperity. |
