With an avalanche of votes, including in-cluding practically every state in the Union, the Republican party marched to victory last Tuesday in the election of Warren Harding for president of the United States and Calvin Cool-idge, Cool-idge, vice-president. Not for many years has a victory been so complete and the voters of the nation willed hat a "change should be made," and when the presidential chair is filled by the new president next March, we are promised "something different." During the period of the world war and at a time when' the country was In turmoil and when the safety of the country in which we live was to he safeguarded against the onslaughts on-slaughts of a nation battling for supremacy su-premacy over all, business industries were sorely effected, the profiteer saw j his chance and the money grabber plying his vocation, greatly demoralized demoral-ized the industrial conditions and from the viewpoint of many, business went wrong. Reconstructive policies, as advocated by the victors, are to be started. In this the voters of the country, irrespective of past affiliations, affilia-tions, will be able assistants in attaining at-taining this end and all should join the ranks and lend every help. . I |
