Show DEATH OF SENATOR LONG. The assassination of Senator Huey Long has been generally deplored by the people of the United States, and tfie sympathy for the Louisiana cele" brity's family has been genuine. Nc natter how well they may like, or how bitterly they may dislike an individual, in-dividual, our people find something abhorrent, something un-American in assassination. We have generally settled set-tled our political quarrels at the polls and not by personal violence. There has been considerable discussion discus-sion as to the probable national political po-litical effect of the unexpected death of Senator Long. Several theories have been advanced but nobody knows what is before us in a political way. It is very likely that what is to happen in America politically will happen, regardless of the fortunes of any one man. There can be little doubt, of course, that in Louisiana the death of the senior senator will have a profound effect. Senator Long has been virtual political dictator of the state and that there will be a reforming re-forming of political lines can be taken tak-en for granted.
