THE NEED FOR SILVER STABILIZATION. Many believe that because of shortage short-age of metallic reserves for the world at large, silver should be made legal tender as in China, and more recently recent-ly Mexico, and that a world silver conference should be called to bring about an agreement to treat silver in a similar manner to gold as an addi-, addi-, t'on to the present metallic monetary reserves. They believe this action j should not wait for action on war j debts and reparations. They believe i that stabilization of silver would ease I gold to such an extent that England ; could soon return to the gold basis, ! which now seems far off. J One thing is certain; namely, that permanent prosperity will not return until war debts and reparations are settled and an adequate metallic monetary mon-etary reserve is available for all coun-tires, coun-tires, which is not the case today.
